From the Board

23 February 2026

Dear Benefactors, Advocates of Orthodox Catholic Higher Education and All First-Time Viewers,

The Lenten Season has arrived!  The penitential way has been clearly marked for us, for generation after generation has tread the very same path, and though it's way may be narrow, it is well-furrowed and, therefore, easy to see, though less tempting to follow; however, it is in learning to jettison our bad habits that the path becomes easier to trod.  Let us gird our loins then, and take up our own crosses and follow in the footsteps of those faithful brethren who have made clear the narrow way.

It has been a while since our last update was posted and the biggest news to report (though it may not be all that new) is the finding of a new location in the Village of Hanover, Illinois.  We are excited about the prospects of this location because of its autonomy within the community of which it is found.  It will allow us to make critical decisions without the need to coordinate with others who, in some way, would have shared the same space while creating conflicts in the use of time.  In that light, we invite you to view our new brochure which sums up, in a nutshell, our work, this new location, and its associated costs.  More pictures can be viewed on the Picture Gallery page of our website.

We are also pleased to continue our connection with Dr. Peter Kwasniewski, who has come on board to share his expertise and experience with us as we move ahead.  His message concisely sums up the thrust of our labor and the benefits that will accompany the opening of the doors of the Great Vocations College of St. Athanasius.  We hope that our excitement at the prospects offered to us at this new location may inspire, in all of you, a desire and a commitment to supply us with the necessary funding to make it become a tangible reality!  We are hopeful that, with your vital assistance, we can move quickly in our aspirations to occupy and open the doors by the Fall of 2027!  May your Lenten Journey show you the way!

Sincerely and with Kindest Regards,

Timothy H. Bratt - Board of Directors Manager
