Dear Benefactors, First-Time Visitors and Advocates of Orthodox Catholic Higher Education,
Easter-Tide has begun, that greatest of Seasons in the Liturgical Year, which causes us to reflect and imbibe in the great Theological Virtue of Hope. Hope in our salvation through the merits attained for us by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ through His Passion, and all we need do is believe in Him, repent of our sins and cooperate with the graces granted to us, that enable us to seek and remain in the light that illumines our path to Heaven. A simple task which can, nonetheless, become convoluted and made thoroughly complex when foolishly tangled with the attractions of the world, the flesh and the devil. It is this great battle of living in the world while not becoming a part of it that tests our resolve and marks us with a sanctifying brand that identifies us as one of the flock of our Lord's...and yet in earning that brand, we must learn to separate the miasma from the fragrant, especially in the world of academia, where some of the greatest conflicts arise...
Thus far, the fruits produced by our foundation include our Academic and Informational Bulletin, which we are proud to display on our Academics page for your edification. It represents the culmination of a years-long labor, put together by many reputable Catholic scholars whose names and biographies can be viewed on our Recognitions page. It is what we affectionately term the "Meat and Potatoes" of our cause and existence. We have also assembled an extensive network of qualified professionals in the academic sphere who are prepared to join us as part of the administrative, faculty and staff members. And, we have now found what we believe to be an idyllic location for the college campus in the Village of Hanover, Illinois, in the Heartland of our country. All that is needed now is the infusion of the capital necessary to open the doors of the college! We are now poised to open those doors and begin the process of instructing the next generations in how to separate the miasma from the fragrant, to choose from the Great Vocations a path enabling them to engage in a vital livelihood that will serve both God and man while living in this world. We implore the continued support of you, our benefactors, the esteemed support of you who advocate for orthodoxy in Catholic higher education and the support of you who are visiting our website for the first-time. We believe that we can, with your generous backing, open the doors of the Great Vocations College of St. Athanasius by the Fall of 2027. Please resolve to join us in renewing that Theological Virtue of Hope that is so vital to the success of our quest for generations to come!!
With Deepest Gratitude and Kind Regards,
Timothy H. Bratt - President and Board of Directors Manager.
